Plume sofas lounges provide the ultimate comfort with down cushioning.  The ergonomics are great, and the aesthetic is contemporary and minimalist.  But the Plume is unique for another reason too.  It focuses on an often overlooked upholstery element.  The smallest and most important detail in the entire upholstering process.  The stitch itself!

The Plume sofas lounges use a unique stitching detail.  Rather than the ubiquitous over-stitching or even twin stitching, we have developed our own ‘open’ stitching detail.  Here, the two adjoining pieces of leather are held together and stitched well away from the exposed edge using very heavy cotton thread.  The 2 exposed ends are then left alone (adjacent to one another), and not turned inside out as per normal.  This results in a most interesting detail which we have utilised all over the Plume range of sofas and armchairs.

Following on from this, we only offer the Plume in either a full aniline or semi-aniline leather.  The reasons for this are two-fold.  Firstly, only the highest quality and toughest leather can do this special stitching detail any justice.  It will keep itself taught and flexible and accentuate the detailing over the long term.  Secondly, only top quality leather can provides the texture and sense of luxury that such a designer piece demands.  To explain the difference between full aniline versus semi-aniline leather, please refer to the bottom of the Materials We Use section.

What else is special?

The ergonomics inherent in the Plume sofas lounges are supreme.  You will always be comfortable.  Furthermore, the various geometric shapes are purposefully combined with the plump internal down.  Blended together, these elements work to provide a resolved sense of proportion, support and true comfort!

We relax things a bit more when it comes to the scatter cushions.  These can most certainly be added in any cover you desire (not only high quality leather).  Please refer to our Luxe Scatter Cushions information for more regarding the multitude of options available here.

Measure twice!

Please ensure that your selected sofa dimensions will allow for comfortable delivery through your entrance ways and doors. Please advise if there are any stairs etc for the delivery team to navigate also. To facilitate delivery, the Plume sofas lounges can be manufactured in either a fixed (full length) or modular configuration.  Please just let us know.
