The original Pende side tables and coffee tables become even more versatile and dramatic with this additional extra.  We are pleased to say that we have perfected the transformation from table to lamp table!  We are very excited about this design and love its multi-functional abilities.

The Pende Lamp table is an international award winning design.  Awards granted in Italy, Germany and the U.S.A.  It’s also internationally registered and has a patent pending across the globe.

With this very modern design we’ve managed to combine, aesthetics, engineering, geometry, proportions, symmetry and functionality to create a truly enigmatic series.  The more you look, the more it draws you in.

Pende lamp table – how it’s achieved

The key to turning a table into a multi-functional lamp table is the utilisation of the unique (pentagon) connection bracket.  We place the precision wooden fitting on top of the table’s stainless steel bracket and we screw in the world renown “#001 Plumen” or “#002 Plumen” light globe to it.  This custom made five-sided fitting is pre-threaded to accept the screw threads from the light globe.  This ensuring a very secure fit.  There’s no chance for the globe to escape.

Note: we only offer the original #001 or #002 Plumen globes for this designer lamp table series.  However, any globe you desire can be readily used as long as it has the “E27” screw type fixing.  For more information regarding our preferred low-energy designer globes please follow this link to the Plumen website.

Pende tables – some background

Our minimalist pende side tables and coffee tables, utilise five legs.  Our internationally registered polygon bracket is the only simple form of fixing the legs require.  It’s the precise nature of the angles that lets each leg physically rest on the leg to its immediate right, whilst having the leg on its left rest directly upon it.  This makes the entire under frame network, self-tightening and self-supporting as well as incredibly strong.  It’s what also allows us to alter these tables into multi-functional lamp tables.

Further Options

Each version of the Pende lamp table is available in either a square or round top.  The glass is available in either clear (fully transparent) or a darker (smoked) glass.  Patterned glass – using our own design – is now also an option.  We use the latest laser cutting technology to produce our etched glass patterns.  Please contact us directly if you would like to explore the options with this type of decorative etching.

Furthermore, with the help of our specialist leather-working family here in Melbourne, we have developed some specialist leather buttons.  These decorative buttons are made entirely from kangaroo leather.  A little touch of Australia for this iconic design.  Kangaroo leather is very under-utilised due to the size of the hides available and its toughness.  For those in the know however, kangaroo leather is incredibly strong and great to work with.  It is also very suited to the moulding and forming process.  Its inherent structure allows the heat formed shape to set firm and result in a very rigid and stable form.
