Description
Maurits Escher (1898-1972) – Graphic Artist, Netherlands
Take one look at this series of designer mirrors and you’ll just keep on staring. Like the famous graphic artist the designer mirrors are named after, the Escher series is simultaneously concerned with numerous concepts. From mathematical and visual ones, including: reflection, perspective, infinity, asymmetry and geometry to the great artist’s specialty. Impossible to construct visual objects.

Visual art
Minimalist and contemporary, these designer mirrors are elevated to the status of “visual art”. This is generated by an otherwise simple object. A connected black line. The solitary black line which flows continuously on the inside as well as the outside of the timber edge frame work. It’s this line which is the iconic emblem of this designer mirror range
The external line detail adds visual interest when one examines the mirror closely (we promise this will happen). Whilst at the same time, the internal line detail will add that genuine element of intrigue as its reflection also comes into play. You will eventually figure out how we achieved this effect, but not without some serious commitment and thought. Remember those design principals we adhere to – they’re all in play here.
The Escher series of designer mirrors is available as a square (S) or as a larger rectangle (R). For details on the rectangular version please click here.
Designer mirrors or light boxes
Furthermore, this square (designer mirror S) can also be offered as a wall mounted light box.
Here, the mirror is omitted. It’s replacement is a beautifully textured, thick, Japanese rice paper. A series of small LED strip lights are positioned behind the rice paper. This has the effect of diffusing the light in a most interesting manner.
The single line detail remains however! Just as it does in all of the Escher designer mirrors.
