Take one look at this wall mirror and you’ll just keep on staring. Like the famous graphic artist that its named after, the Escher mirror series is simultaneously concerned with numerous mathematical and visual concepts, including: reflection, perspective, infinity, asymmetry and geometry as well as the great artist’s specialty – impossible visual objects.

A minimalist and contemporary wall mirror is elevated to the status of “visual art” by the addition of a solitary black line which flows around the mirror frame on both an an internal or external facet. The external line detail adds visual interest when one examines the mirror by walking up to it and staring, whilst the internal line adds an element of intrigue as its reflection in captured and highlighted.

The Escher wall mirror series is available in two sizes.  See the rectangular product listing for the larger version.  Same principle, different scale.

There is also a wall light which is available in this series with a series of LED lights fitted behind a contemporary Japanese rice paper screen. The surrounding detail line however is still able to be seen from all vantage points and the rice paper diffuses the light in a very subtle and interesting manner.

Sustainability is our essence, not just a tag line.
Good Design is sustainable. Minimal materials, cleverly put together, avoiding unnecessary production and waste. Well crafted designs that last a long time, because if you buy cheap you pay twice, and so does the environment.

Sustainability is about health, avoiding bad chemicals, using non-toxic materials.  Choice of materials is important. We prefer natural fibres in our fabrics. Wools, cottons, linens, and leather.  Timber is a great choice for sustainable outcomes. Forests are good for our environment, and timber production has many eco-benefits. We prefer timbers that are properly harvested using sustainable forestry practices, and timbers that last. We use glass, or metal when that’s what the item needs to be beautiful, or functional, or to last a long time. That’s part of a sustainable outcome too.
